ITINERARY

DAY 1TARANGIRE NATIONAL PARK

OVERVIEW

With the four-hour journey to see stunning Tarangire ahead of us, a 07.00 departure from your hotel in Arusha City is required. Your expert Easy Travel driver-guide will take good care of you throughout the day, enjoying the chance to share his knowledge with you. You will have time to enjoy your picnic lunchbox, which is included in the day tour

Tarangire national park is located at the northern part of Tanzania and it’s named after the Tarangireriver. This national park is part of the northern circuit which consist of other national park such as Serengeti, lake Manyara, Ngorongoro crater and arusha national park.

In Tarangire national park includes wildlife-where by in Tarangire national park there is high concentration of big number of elephants, bird species, big baobab tree, riverTarangire and Maasai community.

Activities Conducted

In Tarangire national park there is plenty of activities that can be conducted there includes bird watching, game driving, cultural visit (Maasai community) and walking safari.

After the long game drive, you will have your lunch inside the park and where you will also get a chance to conduct walking safari that will give you more experience on small animals within the bush land and sporting the animals that were closer range without disturbing them, later you will drive to Fig Big Tree Lodge for overnight.

DAY 2 FIG BIG TREE LODGE TO SERENGETI NATIONAL PARK

You will wake up early morning after breakfast and head to Serengeti national park via Ngorongoro.

The Serengeti National Park is one of the largest wildlife conservation areas in Africa. It is situated in North-Central Tanzania (adjacent to the border with Kenya) and covers an area measuring 14,763 square kilometers. It is also located next to the Ngorongoro Conservation area. Because of its rich biodiversity and incredible collection of wildlife, the Serengeti is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

The Serengeti is characterized by flat plains, grasslands and dotted with kopjes. The park is home to wildebeest, lions, leopards, cheetahs, zebras, jackals, hyenas, buffaloes, elephants, black rhinos and much more.

The greatest attraction in the Serengeti is the seasonal animal migration where over 1.3 million wildebeest, 150,000 gazelles, 60,000 zebras gather after following the rains and green pasture before continuing to the Maasai Mara National Reserve. After the full day of game drive, you will drive to Seronera Campsite for dinner and overnight

DAY 3 FULL DAY IN SERENGETI

Start an early Morning game drive in the Serengeti National Park. We are completely flexible with your preferences and this day will be organized according to your wishes. On every day of the safari, your guide will discuss with you the best timings for you, including the game drives and the wake-up time. For example, on this day, you could do a morning game drive, return to the amp/lodge for lunch and relaxation and finish with an afternoon game drive, or you could go for a game drive with picnic lunch. After the game drive, you will return back to Seronera campsite.

DAY 4 FULL DAY IN SERENGETI

Waking up in Serengeti is marvelous. You will be able to hear various sounds of birds, and different wild animals together making the total complete sounds of Serengeti and the real African beauty. Today you will have a whole day game drive to this most wonderful place in the world.

On this day, you will have the option to take a balloon safari which is taken very early in the morning. It allows you to not only see thousands of wildlife in a short moment but also enjoy the unique safari of using a balloon instead of a normal safari vehicle. But if you opt for the normal safari vehicle, you will still have a whole day game till late in the afternoon when you will be transferred to Seronera campsite for a warm shower, dinner and your overnight stay.

DAY 5 SERENGETI TO NGORONGORO HIGHLANDS

Wake up early as usual and take your breakfast as you wait for the Guide/Driver. You will be taken for a morning game drive at the Seronera valley for a chance to see zebras, wildebeests, lions, topi, waterbucks, genet, hyrax, hippos, serval cats, foxes, elephants, buffaloes, eland, monitor lizards, the aardwolf, mongoose, jackals, Masai giraffes, porcupines, aardvark, Thompson gazelle, Grants gazelle, caracal, hartebeest, cheetahs, leopards, lions and hyenas. The park is home to about 4,000 lions, colobus monkeys, vervet monkeys and the common baboon. Picnic lunch will be in the middle of all the wildlife and amazing savanna. After lunch, you will continue to drive through the Serengeti plains towards the Ngorongoro crater. The Ngorongoro crater is part of the wider Ngorongoro Conservation area which is 8000 square kilometers large. It is one of the three most impressive game viewing locations in the world. It is the best place in the world for viewing the big cats in action. You will descend into the crater and have one of the best wildlife experiences in Africa. It is important to discuss with your Guide about the exact time and place to do the game drives on this day the night before. Our Guides/Drivers are flexible and can start the game drives earlier than usual or to particular sections of the park or reserve. You will spend the evening and night in one of the lodges at the edge of the Ngorongoro caldera. Dinner and overnight while at theNgorongoroCrater Simba Campsite

DAY 6 NGORONGORO CRATER

Wake up early and take your breakfast as you prepare for a final game drive inside the Ngorongoro crater. The game drive starts at 7:00 am to see all the big five mammals of Africa including leopards, buffaloes, rhino, elephant and other creatures.

A day adventure to the famous Ngorongoro Crater. The main feature of the Ngorongoro Conservation Authority is the Ngorongoro Crater, the world’s largest inactive, intact and unfilled volcanic caldera. The crater, which formed when a large volcano exploded and collapsed on itself two to three million years ago, is 610 meters (2,000 feet) deep and its floor covers 260 square kilometers (100 square miles). Estimates of the height of the original volcano range from 4,500 to 5,800 meters (14,800 to 19,000 feet) high. The crater floor is 1,800 meters (5,900 feet) above sea level. The crater was voted by Seven Natural Wonders as one of the Seven Natural Wonders of Africa in Arusha, Tanzania in February 2013. The Ngorongoro volcano was active from about 2.45 to 2 million years ago.

After the whole day of game drive, you will drive to Fig Big Tree lodge for dinner and overnight

DAY 7LAKE MANYARA TO ARUSHA

OVERVIEW

Lake Manyara is relatively small but diverse national park 120km west of arusha. The park namesake (lake Manyara is shallow Salt Lake. its cover large area of the park, flooding and drying with the season and its home of the thousand’s flamingo and over other 500 bird species. In your exploration in the park, you will see monkey, giraffe, zebra, wild beast, buffalo, elephants and with some lucky you will see tree climbing lions (the lions lodging on the trees) The park is known for its diverse land scape not only open grass plains but also primate filled woodland and baobab doted cliff.

Attractions Available in Lake Manyara National Park

The attractions available includes lake Manyara, wild life, birdlife, ground water forest, acacia woods, Majimoto spring, tree canopy and marang forest reserve and wild animals.

Activities Conducted Includes

Include game drive, bird watching, canoeing in lakeManyara, tree waling and visiting MaasaiBomas.

Begin your tour in the park and marvel at the 400 species of birds which inhabit the park, many of which remain throughout the year.

Because of this Lake Manyara, National Park is an excellent spot for bird watching. Visitors to the park can expect to see upwards of 100 different species of bird on any day. As you drive into the interior of the park, keep your eyes peeled for big cats such as leopards, Masai lions, and cheetahs.

The leopards and lions are both known to lounge in the trees while not hunting for prey. Try to spot other mammals including elephants, blue monkeys, dik-dik, gazelles, Masai giraffe, impala, zebras, and more.

After a wonderful day enjoying the spectacular sights and sounds of this truly special place, we leave Ngorongoro around 15.00, to arrive back in Arusha for 18.00 where you are dropped off at your hotel in Karatu and rest at Fig Big Tree Lodge.

DAY 8LAKE NATRON

This day brings you a road trip through northern Tanzania with destination Lake Natron. You depart from Africa Safari Lake Manyara after breakfast. The drive can take up to 4 hours and it’s the perfect way to see different sides of Tanzania’s ever-changing landscapes.

As you pass the Rift Valley and drive further towards Lake Natron, you will notice the lush green vegetation slowly exchanging for dry, arid and dusty landscapes. The occasional Maasai villages passed en route become dots in the distant scenery.

The further north you reach, the more remains of old volcanoes rise around you. Among them is OlDoinyoLengai, meaning ‘Mountain of God’ in Maasai dialect. This volcano is one of the few that are still active. When you eventually reach Lake Natron, you might perhaps catch its smoke disappearing in the sky.

After a wonderful day enjoying the spectacular sights and sounds of this truly special place, we leave Lake Natron around 15.00, to arrive back in Arusha for 18.00 where you are dropped off at your hotel in Arusha city and rest for the next day if your safari

DAY 9 MATERUNI & CHEMKA HOTSPRING

In the morning after warm breakfast [around 8:30am], our representative, charming as well as a professional guide will arrive at the hotel and inform the receptionist that he is waiting for you. After meeting up with your driver, you will start your safari heard to Materuni Waterfalls and Chemka Hot spring.

Materuni is the home of the Chagga tribe and is still an authentic tribal village. This charming place is just 15km away from Moshi Town and is the last village before the Kilimanjaro National Park.

You will be picked in the morning, by our English-speaking guide, who will drive you to Materuni Village. Upon arrival, you will register at the village office and your trip can begin.

First, you will visit the waterfalls, which are around a 40-minute walk away. On the way, your guide will inform you about the culture of the Chagga, village life and explain the surrounding fauna and flora. The views are truly breathtaking, and with some luck, you will see the summit of Kilimanjaro. When you reach the waterfalls, you will see that they are more than 80 meters high. The pool at the bottom of the waterfall is an inviting place for a refreshing swim so don ‘t forgets your swimwear!

After having enjoyed the scenery, you slowly return with your guide to Materuni village, where you will experience a traditional Chagga lunch. You also will have the opportunity to taste our local banana beer – definitely not to be missed!

Coffee tour

But that’s not all. Next, the coffee experience awaits you. Here you will learn how coffee is cultivated, dried, roasted, and further processed. You will also be invited to help with thegrinding of the coffee, which is traditionally accompanied by Chagga songs and dances – a fun way to immerse yourself in the local culture. Before you say goodbye, you can savor the coffee you made and appreciate the views of the surrounding rainforest.

Kikuletwa hot springs

After the coffee tour in Materuni, your trip continues to the Kikuletwa Hot Springs. The ride to the hot springs takes about an hour and 20 minutes and leads partly over bumpy slopes

Enjoy a wonderful afternoon in just the way you want, in the sun dozing, chatting with the locals at the small bar, or swimming – you determine the course. We leave the hot springs in the late afternoon (just before sunset) and go directly to the Airport.
